What Can I Give to the Shelter?

To answer this question about the Shelter — Domestic violence increases dramatically during the holidays, and the Shelter is in great need of warm clothing. Hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, coats, jackets, sweaters, hoodies, shoes, boots, socks, slippers, etc. are most appreciated. This clothing does not need to be new, just clean. When you go into a Shelter with nothing, anything that is warm is wonderful. The Shelter is way over capacity right now and will stay that way until Spring, with approximately 27 children and 18 mothers at last count. My heart has always gone out to the children who have to call the Shelter home, so I would put the focus on children's clothing--all sizes for both boys and girls.

As far as coordinating donations, my cell #410-608-6454 so feel free to call me at any time. The Shelter's main number is #410-285-7496 and you could call them directly if anyone wanted to drop off there (Dundalk). Because of their limited space, I have to call first before taking anything down there, and they will NOT accept anything other than the clothing items I mentioned at this time because they are in tiny apartments until the building renovation is complete.

As always, thanks for thinking of the Shelter!

Seva Team

Our Seva Team serves members of our community who may be in need of pastoral care or other support. Our ministerial staff can make hospital visits and offer their support through counseling or Spiritual Mind Treatment. Team members can serve as companions to doctors appointments, help with shopping, offer much needed respite care, or help with a few meals. We want our members and friends to know that they can rely on our beloved community to be there when the need arises.

Baltimore Book Festival

For the past several years, RSB has held a booth at the popular Baltimore Book Festival, offering gently used and new books, along with information about our community, to those in attendance. The used books are made available on a love offering basis - highly popular with the people at the Festival!

Special Projects

Other projects RSB has supported include Christmas in April, Habitat for Humanity, The Heifer Project, and many others that help people help themselves more fully. If you know of an outreach project you'd like to see RSB take part in, contact Rev. Jeffrey at 410.358.0163.
