Current Schedule
For people who aren't conveniently located near a Religious Science church, or whose schedules simply don't mesh with the typical class times, finding a way to take classes can be difficult. Religious Science Baltimore hopes to offer several ways to take classes in a non-local format. While the experience is very different from physically attending a class, you can still receive credit for coursework in one of two ways: distance learning and online learning.
Distance Learning
In this class model, students receive the lesson content of class sessions in CD format. Worksheets and other class materials are emailed to the student each week. Students complete any reading and homework in a manner that fits their schedule, and return homework by postal email. Teachers are available for questions and answers by email and by appointment.
Online Learning
Still in development, this model of time-independent learning will use various media to present the lesson content. Students will access a secure website designed for their particular class. Each class begins and ends at a set time; while there is no synchronous meeting time [as students are scattered in many time zones and countries], discussion webs allow for questions and answers. In addition, the message boards will help the level of interaction stay high. Homework and other checkpoints will be assessed via online forms.
If you'd like to take part in a distance or online course, or have questions, email the registrar. You can view our current course schedules on our Schedule of Classes page.
