Classes in the Science of Mind

Some people wonder why New Thought, and Religious Science in particular, places so much emphasis on educational programs. They wonder, "Isn't coming to the Center for the Sunday Celebrations of Life enough?" The answer: both yes and no. Coming together in community is an important part of our spiritual journey. We can rely on the support and confidence of others when our own is lacking, and we can offer our support to friends and companions on the path when they are in need of support. Hearing inspiring messages does indeed help us to, as Emerson put it, 'hitch our wagon to a star'.

But one hour a week usually just isn't enough to change consciousness at depth. Most of us need a more consistent and continual reminder. Sunday morning is where we hear about our potential, but the classroom is where we experience the practical applications of the principles. Regular study of the principles of New Thought is important if we want to drive those principles from head to heart.

The premise is simple: it is done unto us as we believe. Classes help us identify, investigate, and test our belief systems. Once we find a belief that no longer serves us, the practice of affirmative prayer is engaged to relieve us of that belief. This is the practical application of the truth taught in all great traditions!

No matter who you are or what the current issues on your path, in classes you will find a new source of inner direction that can dramatically improve your life! Learning about the teaching of the Science of Mind® can give you the tools to transform your experience from one of being tossed about by events and conditions seemingly outside your control to one of clarity, empowerment, and greatest joy. Simply put, classes help us learn how to live a beautiful life!

The discipline of regular attendance and the weekly readings create a framework for asking the big questions about life and our place in it. The accredited classes we offer are designed to challenge both the new and advanced student.

What Happens in Classes?

Through lectures, discussions, workshops, and experiential practice, students learn how to apply the principles of Religious Science to any area of living. These are the same principles that the spiritual masters have used throughout history to heal, to awaken, and to enlighten.

Students experience a profound bond with each other in the course of classes, and longtime friendships are often the result.

Most of all, classes are fun! In connecting with others, learning about spiritual principles, and doing experiential practices that illustrate those principles in concrete and easy to understand ways, students drive the ideas of New Thought home. Having a supportive group of fellow adventurers on the journey makes it much easier to change your thinking and change your life.

What will I learn?

What actual students say about classes:

Being in class has given me a bigger picture of god and made me think!

Classes answer a lot of questions, and bring up even more.

It’s helped reinforce the very ideas I have been studying for years.

My mind is now free from that undercurrent of negative self-talk.

I finally understand how to practice these principles in my daily life.

Sundays are inspiring, but classes are where I really learned how to change my thinking and change my life.

Classes have given me practical tools to identify, address, and change the limiting self-sabotaging beliefs that are in the way of my dreams…

Come in with an open mind. Expect growth where you never saw need. Expect change everywhere...

I’m learning to live in integrity and honesty without self-deception of any kind…
