and Services Auction Instructions

Damon's
Grill Banquet Facility, 118 Shawan Rd, Suite HH, Cockeysville, MD 21030
6:00 pm - Doors Open Registration & Silent Auction
7:30 PM - Live Auction When you arrive, please Register.
You will give your name, address and phone number (email optional) then you'll
receive a Bidding Number (e.g. "21") on a card. This number identifies you, and
will be necessary to participate in the auction. Silent Auction
Stroll around the room, have some refreshments, and carefully examine
items in the Silent Auction (when available; some things won't be physically present).
If interested, locate the Bidding Sheet by each item, and write down the Amount
you wish to bid, and your Bidding Number and name (using only your Bidding Number
provides you with anonymity if you'd like). Note: Please bid in
whole dollars. You can bid as many times as you wish, each time increasing your
bid. Some items have Suggested Values; this is only a guide to help you bid. You
can exceed the Suggested Value. The Silent Auction will close midway
into the Live Auction. This will be announced. This is your opportunity to check
on items you are interested in, and increase your bid if necessary.
Live Auction The Live Auction will be managed in chronological
order. Please have a seat and bid by raising your Bidding Number up high, so it
is noticed by the auctioneers. At the end of bidding on an item, the winning bid
and number of the successful bidder will be announced. Your winning invoice will
be available at the checkout area. Absentee Bidding
If someone needs to leave the Auction early, or can't attend at all, arrange
for a friend to bid for you. Note that bidding is done by number, so each bidder
must have his/her unique number. Arrange for the absent bidder's number during
the Registration process at the start of the evening, or have the bidder give
you his/her Bidder Number before leaving. Note that all monies are due at the
end of the evening; there is no billing or delayed payment allowed.
Check Out At any time during the evening, you can Check Out
by going to the Computer Operator, find the total of what you owe, and pay the
Treasurer. All items must be paid before leaving the Auction. The Treasurer
accepts cash, Visa, MasterCard, and personal checks. Donations
Arrangements for when a service is provided can be arranged by mutual agreement
between the bidder and the donor. Most items have fixed dates — dinners,
for example should be a fixed date — while other dates are left to the
convenience of the parties. Theme This year's theme is "Putting
on the Ritz". If you'd like, feel free to arrive at the auction dressed in
appropriate attire! |
